Buffalo Wild Wings Sees More Fantasy Draft Parties, Strong Takeout Sales, OTR Global Says

More fantasy football draft parties year-over-year has increased engagement in Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD) Blazin’ Rewards program and strong takeout sales have been aiding trends at the restaurant chain, OTR Global said. The firm’s read on the company remains mixed as mid-third quarter traffic for televised sporting events that will meet plan for eight of nine managers. August year-over-year sales are stronger versus July for six of the nine managers. Loyalty transactions range from 15% to 55% of all transactions. There’s minor pushback to switch from half-off bone-in wings to boneless buy-one get-one on Tuesday nights for six of seven managers. Most expect the cost savings to outweigh limited customer attrition, OTR said.
