AccorHotels, Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners Mull Acquisition of Potel & Chabot

AccorHotels and Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners are in discussions with event organisation company Potel & Chabot regarding a potential acquisition of the company.

By investing in Potel & Chabot, whose majority shareholder is 21 Centrale Partners, Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners and AccorHotels would hold 51% and 40%, respectively, of the share capital, according to a statement published on Accor’s website on Monday.

Potel & Chabot Group, which specializes in organizing high-end events such as the French Open at Roland Garros and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, generated revenue in excess of 100 million euros ($108.8 million) last year.

Franck Jeantet, chief executive of Potel & Chabot, said “We are delighted that two major, highly experienced leading investors are taking a stake in our group’s share capital. It will enable us to support our growth in the luxury hospitality industry both in France and internationally.”

“With this renewed shareholding, Potel & Chabot will benefit from the help of two key players in support of its strategy,” Pierre-Yves Poirier and Sylvain Charignon, partners at Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners, said in the statement.

Sven Boinet, deputy chief executive officer of AccorHotels, said that the combination would provide its clients with “unique services and expertise regarding tailor-made events. It gives us a real boost and allows us to create new growth opportunities beyond the world of travel.”
